Accra Hearts of Oak has suspended striker Kofi Kodzi for two weeks for acts of misconduct.
The suspension was as a result of the striker taking part in this year’s Ramadan Cup which was organized for Zongo Communities in honour of the National Chief Imam of Ghana, Sheikh Osman Nuhu Shaributu without any knowledge of the authorities of the club.
A statement released by the club said, “Kofi Kordzi has been suspended for two weeks, following the violation of his contract with the club”.
According to the statement, the striker violated his contract after he was seen in an unauthorized football match on May 14 without permission from the authorities of the club.
The striker in the course of his two weeks suspension is expected to train with the junior team of the club.
“The sanctions form part of the club’s disciplinary measures to ensure that all employees of the club adhere strictly to their contractual obligations to avoid any possible sanctions,” it said
It said upon the striker serving the two weeks suspension, he is expected to sign a bond of good behaviour to serve as a deterrent to others.
